Testimonies of Healing

It is with heart filled with gratitude that I wish to share some of the many experiences of healing in our family which were brought about, with the help of a practitioner, through the understanding and application of Christian Science. It was in a time of extremity, when a loved member of our family was told that materia medica could do no more for her, that we heard of Christian Science.

My life has been marked by a series of healings and blessings wrought through the application of Christian Science. Sickness has been healed, discord removed, and numerous fears have been overcome through consecrated study of this vast subject.

For over twenty years, Christian Science has been my greatest blessing, and I do not have words to express my gratitude for the privilege of studying and applying this great truth which Mrs. Eddy has made so plain to us.

I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science. I came to it not for healing, but because a member of my family felt that true religion was to be found in its teachings.

The reading in the Journal and the Sentinel of testimonies of healing brought about through the application of Christian Science has always left me with a great sense of gratitude for what this religion has done and is doing for all mankind. It was my privilege to be enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School at the age of five.

I am very grateful for the teachings of Christian Science, which have shown me the path I should take from sense to Soul, and which have enabled me to understand God so much more clearly than I had ever done before. I had my first introduction to Christian Science about twenty-seven years ago through a practitioner to whom my husband had gone for the healing of tubercular fistulas.

About eight years ago I was suffering from chronic constipation to such an extent that I went to doctors to be examined and X-rayed to see if there was any possible way to get relief. Their diagnosis was that I had adhesions from a former appendectomy, and an operation to remedy those would help some but would not entirely heal the situation.

For many years I had been held in bondage by false fears. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says ( Poems, p.

Twenty-four years ago the glorious light of Christian Science came into our home. Through its ministration our baby was completely and permanently healed of constipation which had troubled her from birth, and which the doctor did not seem able to relieve.

It gives me great joy to testify to the fact that solely through the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy, the following healings and benefits have come to me and mine. The one exception is my first healing, which was accomplished through the help of a Christian Science practitioner.
