Testimonies of Healing

About thirty years ago, as I sat on a rock at the seaside, after listening to a sermon from which I had received no inspiration, but rather a sense of depresion, a voice seemed to come to me, saying clearly, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. " This thought seemed very wonderful.

With the deepest gratitude, I give this testimony of the healing power of Christian Science. Twenty-three years ago I was hurt in an automobile accident.

Five years have passed since I first learned of Christian Science. My first healing came when I needed it most.

So many manifestations of love have come to me and to our family of six in the thirty-five years we have relied wholly upon Christian Science that it is with humility, as well as deep gratitude, that I bear witness to its efficacy in healing the sick and reforming the sinner. Speaking to the multitude of John the Baptist, Jesus said, "What went ye out for to see?" The answer to that question is found in Christian Science churches throughout the world every Wednesday night, when testimonies are given of the healing of sickness, of reformation of the sinner, and of the comforting of the grief-stricken.

A few years ago my young son passed on. He had been my reason for coming into Christian Science, after medical research had failed to help or heal him.

I have received so many blessings and seen so much good accomplished through the study and application of Christian Science that I should like to add my testimony to the many already given. Christian Science found me in a very confused state of thought.

My heart overflows with gratitude to God for Christian Science, because I have proved in my own experience its efficacy in healing and restoring happiness. One outstanding healing occurred about two years ago.

The hymns in the Christian Science Hymnal are not merely a collection of beautiful words set to pleasing music; they have a spiritual message. Some years before I became actively interested in Christian Science those hymns made an impression on me, and I found myself humming one, the words of which were written by Mrs.

Christian Science has met all our needs for sixteen years. There have been many problems and many trying times in the rearing of three children.

It is with heart filled with gratitude that I wish to share some of the many experiences of healing in our family which were brought about, with the help of a practitioner, through the understanding and application of Christian Science. It was in a time of extremity, when a loved member of our family was told that materia medica could do no more for her, that we heard of Christian Science.
