Testimonies of Healing

I am deeply grateful to God for all the love and joy that has come into my life through some understanding of Christian Science. My first healings, of chilblains and a lump on one of my hands, came through reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Just before the birth of our first child, Christian Science was introduced to me through the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The book was left at our home by a neighbor, who assured me that I would receive help merely from reading it.

" Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing," sings the Psalmist ( Ps. 107:21, 22 ).

A number of years ago I submitted a testimony, which was published in the Sentinel. In the intervening years I have received so much help from the study and application of Christian Science that I feel it is high time to express more fully my deep appreciation of what our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has done for mankind.

It is with deep gratitude to God that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science. My mother became interested in Science in 1922 when I was very ill and several doctors and children's specialists had declared they could do no more for me.

At the time of my first healing in Christian Science, I was sad and lonely because of the passing on of a dear one. I was also suffering much pain in my back, a condition which doctors said was serious, and which made it necessary for me to give up my position.

In II Corinthians 5:17 we read, "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. " Although I was reared in a Christian home, many Bible verses were not clear to me.

In 1906 my wife and I became interested in Christian Science, through the kindness of my employer's wife at the time of our marriage, and we began attending Christian Science services immediately thereafter. During the years which followed, our four children grew to manhood and womanhood without our having called upon the services of medical doctors, except at childbirth as required by state law.

I found Christian Science fifty years ago. I was then in great distress, darkness, and pain.
