Testimonies of Healing

" Every law of matter or the body, supposed to govern man, is rendered null and void by the law of Life, God. " This beautiful sentence on page 380 of Science and Health by Mrs.

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who made this truth available to us. Since taking up the study of Christian Science I have grown to know that, no matter what difficult experiences I may have, all problems can be eliminated by the understanding that, as God's expression, I can no more be identified with those difficulties nor experience them than can God.

In deep gratitude to God for His goodness and for the revelation, through Christian Science, of man's unity with Him, I relate the following experience which occurred twenty years ago, and which has continued, through the years, to give me courage and faith in good. At that time I was employed as a court stenographer.

In childhood I was taught to pray, and to expect my prayers to be answered. I am grateful for this.

To express gratitude for the many blessings which my family has received from the study of Christian Science is indeed a privilege. My study was not impelled by the desire for a physical healing but by an insatiable desire to know God.

My wife and I had been looking forward to a Christian Science lecture, which was to be given in the branch church of which we are both members. Halfway through the lecture, however, I had the feeling of sleep coming over me.

In gratitude for the many healings I have received through the understanding and application of Christian Science, I want to tell the following experiences. In the summer of 1943, while visiting relatives in one of the southern states, I was healed of the sting of a scorpion.

It is with a profound sense of gratitude and the hope that it may bring encouragement to others, that I submit the following testimony of the healing of neurasthenia through the ministrations of Christian Science. This condition threatened to bring much unhappiness and limitation into my life, and to cause great worry to those whom I most wished to help.

One winter I was a hundred miles from Wednesday evening testimony meetings. This led me to a greater appreciation of the testimonies in our periodicals, and gave me the impetus to express my thankfulness for Christian Science.

The statement on page 449 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, "A grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth, but more of Christian Science must be gained in order to continue in well doing," was proved early in my study. I was healed in six months of chronic rheumatism after suffering for seven years.
