Testimonies of Healing

In gratitude to our Father-Mother God for our Teacher and Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and in honor to Mary Baker Eddy, who followed the Master so closely that she was able to receive and impart to this age scientific Christianity, I should like to tell some of the good that has come to me through Christian Science. During the past ten years I have had many wonderful proofs of the healing power of Christian Science. When entering the Navy, I was sent to the Hospital Corps School, where I was to take a six weeks' course in nursing and field sanitation.

" Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, 0 my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.

Some years ago, at a time of mental strain and physical weakness, when the world seemed all woe and weariness, and life's burdens heavier than I could bear, I prayed to be given strength to carry on. Christian Science was the answer to that prayer.

With deep gratitude I testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I was healed of a trouble which defied medical aid, was lifted out of darkness into light, and this liberation has brought me happiness beyond words to describe.

I became interested in Christian Science in 1918, shortly before entering college. At that time I was suffering from a diseased condition of the tonsils which had troubled me for several years.

On page 208 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, says, "You embrace your body in your thought, and you should delineate upon it thoughts of health, not of sickness. " My testimony is given as a proof of this statement and as encouragement for others to know that they can rely completely on Christian Science for healing.

The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals and those given at Wednesday noon and evening services have brought me so much help and inspiration in my study of Christian Science that I wish to express my loving gratitude to God for the comfort, happiness, and healings which this Science has brought into my life. When Christian Science was first presented to me I was not interested, but "man's extremity is God's opportunity.

Christian Science came into my experience about fifteen years ago, after one of the best authorities on medicine had told me that he could do no more for me. My sister wrote me that in spite of what the doctor had said, she knew that I could be healed in Christian Science.

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good" ( I Thess. 5:21 ).
