
Testimonies of Healing
For many years Christian Science has been my only physician and has met my every need. I was very ill with bronchial trouble and other distressing ailments when I turned to Christian Science for a healing.
With the desire to encourage anyone who may feel that his understanding of Christian Science is so slight that he cannot put it into practice, I offer the following testimony. Our two-year-old son had been subject to periodic attacks of constipation from birth.
As the Christ, Truth, fills our consciousness, we recognize God as the only power, presence, and activity. Thus man, by reflection, expresses dominion over all that is unlike good.
" Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. " As one who for almost fifteen years has been drawing water from the wells of salvation which God has given us in Christian Science, I write this testimony with joy.
Everything that I am, everything that I have, I owe to Christian Science. I have a happy home and a constantly growing business.
For some time I had been wondering why Christians did not heal the sick today as in olden times, but my immediate reason for seeking spiritual healing was that a relative had been given up to die by doctors. After talking it over with my mother I decided to investigate.
No one can be more grateful for Christian Science than I am. My parents turned to it for healing while I was still in my infancy, and I have had the continuous blessing and protection of its teaching ever since.
Although I have been a student of Christian Science for a number of years, I have been apathetic in expressing through our periodicals my gratitude for the manifold blessings I have received from its teachings. I did not take up the study of Christian Science for physical healing.
It is with a deep sense of gratitude to God that I give the following testimony. About two years ago I suffered from a severe nervous breakdown.
Christian Science was presented to me several times over a number of years before I was ready to investigate its teachings. Not until I had suffered sufficiently from following the suggestions of mortal mind did I finally take up its study.
