Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science has met my every need during the last nine years, and I wish to express my gratitude for the spiritual growth which has been experienced whenever this system of metaphysics has been faithfully applied. In April of 1936 I found myself without remunerative employment, and with seemingly no supply whatever.

In September, 1907, I took up the study of Christian Science for a healing, and at the same time called upon a Christian Science practitioner, who in previous years had been my English teacher in high school. Prior to coming into this beautiful truth I had undergone a major and a minor operation.

In gratitude to God for revealing to Mary Baker Eddy Christian Science, which heals sickness, sorrow, and sin, I lovingly give my testimony. About ten years ago I was suffering from liver and kidney trouble and had been unable to retain my food for weeks.

Thanks be to God for the unspeakable gift of Christian Science, revealed to mankind by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, who, through her "listening ear" and radical reliance on God, was able to make the truth of what she had discovered practical. Hoping that my own experience in proving the allness and goodness of God in the healing of broken bones and results of accidents will help and encourage others, I shall relate the circumstances.

Having received much encouragement and help from the testimonies in our periodicals, I feel prompted to add mine in the hope that it may be helpful to others who are seeking the truth. While I did not turn to Christian Science for physical healing, but rather for the understanding of a God to love and not to fear, needless to say I have had many such healings and am sincerely grateful for them.

St. Paul wrote in his second epistle to the Corinthians, "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

I was healed by Christian Science treatment before I had ever read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

It is with a very great sense of gratitude and humility that I give this testimony of the healing power of Christian Science. Several years ago, when entering a car, I slipped and the starting of the car threw me backward, resulting in a badly injured foot.

Our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p. 182, ) "The demands of God appeal to thought only.

Gratefully and reverently I desire publicly to express my heartfelt gratitude to my Father-Mother God, and to the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, for all that Christian Science has done and is doing for me. When I first became interested in Christian Science, I had been a patient for four weeks in a hospital, where I was under observation and treatment preparatory to undergoing an operation.
