Testimonies of Healing

TWELVE years ago I began seriously the study of Christian Science, not for the healing of any particular ailment, but more in the search for a haven into which might be guided a wayward and rudderless ship, such as I felt myself to be. During these twelve years, however, I have had many proofs of the healing power and protective care of our loving Father-Mother God, as revealed to us by our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE has afforded me protection all my life. I am very grateful for having had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School until I reached the age limit, and since that time for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church.

FOR the complete change that Christian Science has wrought in my life I wish to express heartfelt gratitude. Six years ago I was in an extremity of mental depression, physical ill-health, and financial difficulties.

MY first experience in Christian Science was the healing of indigestion, of an abnormal condition of the bowels, and of extreme nervousness. I continued the study of Christian Science and have received many beautiful healings.

ALTHOUGH I was brought up to attend church and read the Bible, I refused to have anything to do with Christian Science when it was first presented to me. I could not, however, forget what I had heard, and I soon began to lose interest in my religion; my ideas of God became confused and I was utterly miserable.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE is truly the Comforter which Christ Jesus said he would send in his place. It gives us that peace "which passeth all understanding.

I AM happy to offer my testimony to the healing power of Christian Science. As I consider my life in retrospect, the first two thirds seemed dominated by false, material beliefs, but throughout the latter portion, the Christ, Truth, has freed me from the so-called laws of sin, disease, and death.

SIX years ago, when Christian Science was presented to me, I was suffering from heart trouble—a leaking valve and enlarged heart. I was unable to walk up a flight of stairs without resting every few steps.

MANY blessings have come to my loved ones and me since I became a student of Christian Science. Over eight years ago our eldest girl, then five years old, appeared to have a slight cold.

I WISH to express my deep-felt gratitude for Christian Science, and for the many proofs I have seen and experienced of its healing efficacy. Through the application of Christian Science I have relied upon God's help entirely for over fifteen years.
