Testimonies of Healing

Through physical suffering, which physicians had failed to alleviate, I was led to Christian Science; and through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and with the help of a practitioner I was healed. This was the beginning of a new life for me.

After years of longing and searching for a religion which would really appeal to me, and at the same time be entirely satisfying and practical in daily living, I finally found in Christian Science all that for which I had been wishing and hoping. Soon after this my husband and our five children also became interested in it, and since then we have been enjoying its many wonderful blessings.

Christian Science has done so much for me and mine that I joyfully appreciate the privilege of expressing my gratitude for its healing power. Through the study of Science and Health I have been healed of chronic sore throat, tonsillitis, quinsy, sick headache, constipation, and catarrh; and with the help of a practitioner I have been instantaneously healed of pneumonia, a dislocated vertebra, colds, and minor ailments.

Just before entering high school, I started to attend the Christian Science Sunday School. I loved it from the first and found throughout my high school and university experience that as I applied my knowledge of Christian Science to everything that presented itself, my needs were beautifully met.

I should like to express my very deep gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. I had been a student of this Science for many years, but the time came when I had to take my stand and prove my faith in God and His goodness, and to realize that matter has no power to harm the child of God.

Christian Science came into my life twenty years ago, through a friend who had been healed of tuberculosis. That first year there were two wonderful instantaneous healings in our family, one of a chronic bronchial cough, the other of a painful growth on the ball of the foot.

I should like to express my gratitude for the many benefits which have come to me through the study of Christian Science, and my deep gratitude to God and to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Christian Science was brought to my notice twenty-five years ago; and with the help of practitioners and friends I have had numerous healings and blessings.

During seven years of illness, everything material methods could offer was tried, including change of climate and an ocean trip, but like the woman spoken of in the Bible I "was nothing bettered. " Finally I became morbid, a burden to myself and my family.

Over thirty years ago Christian Science was recommended to me after doctors had diagnosed my trouble as a complication of diseases—arthritis, hardening of the arteries, and enlarged heart. For ten years I had tried a number of prominent physicians and specialists, and their prescribed treatments, but I finally became helpless and had to sit in an invalid's chair.

For the past four years I have been an earnest student of Christian Science, and these four years have been crowded with blessings. I lovingly offer my testimony, and hope it will encourage beginners, as it has been proved to me that it is not necessary to be a student of long standing in order to demonstrate this truth.
