Testimonies of Healing

With deep gratitude I give this testimony. In 1917 my wife gave me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

More than twenty years ago I came into Christian Science, not for a physical healing, though since then I have received many healings, but seeking peace; and Christian Science not only gave me that peace "which passeth all understanding," but it eliminated many errors, such as a temperamental disposition, a belief of possession, and a sense of boredom. It has healed me of worldly ambition, and in its place has given me a great sense of love and humility.

Time and space would fail me to tell of the countless blessings that have come to me through Christian Science. I have had many physical healings as a result of my study and application of the truth about God and man.

It is a joyous privilege for me to express my gratitude for Christian Science by telling of some demonstrations that I have experienced. Through reading the Christian Science textbook I was healed of what the medical fraternity called tuberculosis.

The testimonies in our periodicals and those given at the Wednesday evening meetings have so often helped and encouraged me that I, too, should like to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has meant to me during the years that I have been a student of this wonderful truth. When in England some years ago I was spending a short time with a friend who was studying Christian Science, but although I had heard about it I was not at all interested and did not desire to know more about it.

It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give the following testimony. About eight years ago Christian Science was presented to me by a dear friend who saw my urgent need.

Nine years ago, when Christian Science was first presented to me by a neighbor who could see my need, it found me physically weak and in mental chaos due to shock and illness. I had prayed long for relief from this mental condition, and when I was told that Christian Science could help me, I accepted this truth at once and called a practitioner, who came to me that afternoon and lovingly told me that "to those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" ( Science and Health, Pref.

Over four years ago I was ill with a severe bladder and kidney disease. I had been in bed for twenty-four weeks and was unable to find any relief from the agonizing pains.

I did not come to Christian Science for healing. It was brought to me while I was nursing in materia medica.

It is a privilege and pleasure to testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I am deeply grateful for a healing of that which an X-ray picture disclosed as fractured ribs, torn ligaments, and bruises.
