
Testimonies of Healing
Christian Science has been the source of many blessings to me, both physical and mental. Sixteen years ago I took up the study of this wonderful truth after witnessing my wife's instantaneous healing of ulcers of the stomach.
In the hope that my experience of healing in Christian Science may bless and help others, I relate the following facts. I did not come into this Science for physical healing.
Christian Science was first brought to us at a time when all material means had failed to relieve me of constant suffering in my face, which affected my eyesight to the extent that I was hardly able to see to read a letter. For this disease I underwent an operation in 1913, in one of the leading hospitals here.
For many years I have been a student of Christian Science, and it has met my every need to the extent that I have lived its teachings. I have learned through many experiences that we have a dependable religion which never fails; and that any seeming failure is due to lack of proper application.
About eight years ago I was in bondage to the appetite for alcohol, which I was said to have inherited. On pondering over my healing recently I can see it might be likened to the case of the man who was "laid daily at the gate of the temple" and asked alms of Peter and John.

Christian Science is the greatest blessing that ever came into my life. It found me in a very depressed and discouraged condition, confined to my bed a great portion of the time, suffering with stomach trouble and hemorrhages.
Gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for her wonderful teaching impels me to speak of at least one of the healings I have experienced through the understanding of the truth as taught by her in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
I wish to express my deep appreciation of the many blessings my family and I have received through the study of Christian Science and the reading of the literature. I should like to tell of a healing our little boy had a few years ago.
Toward the end of an inspiring article entitled "Loyal Christian Scientists" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read ( Miscellaneous Writings, p. 279 ), "It is the love of God, and not the fear of evil, that is the incentive in Science.
