Testimonies of Healing
Fifteen years ago a disease came upon my body causing me great pain. A kind lady offered to work for me in Christian Science, saying that the disease would permanently disappear.
Christian Science was brought into our home when I was a small child, through the healing of my father of stomach and bowel trouble. After he had been given up to die by many physicians he was completely healed through Christian Science treatment.
It is my prayer that this message of gratitude go to the farthest corner of the globe, to inspire the downhearted to do what I did to get my healing of an illness said by two doctors to be incurable. In June, 1931, I was taken with very serious heart trouble.
My first introduction to Christian Science came in 1923. I had returned home from college almost a mental and physical wreck.
With love, joy, and deep gratitude I should like to testify to the wonderful healings I have received since becoming a student of Christian Science. In the early spring of 1925 my husband wished to take my daughter and me to the opening of a new building which had been erected, and which he had passed every day during its erection.
After all the good I have received since I became a student of Christian Science, I feel it my duty and privilege to send this testimony. In 1919, while living in the United States, I received my first healing, though at that time I knew nothing at all of Christian Science.
When I was a young girl I was asked to read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This I began to do, thinking that when I had read it the one desiring me to do so would be satisfied and would trouble me no more.
I desire to express gratitude for Christian Science and for the many good things—health, joy, freedom, harmony, peace of mind, and many other treasures—that have come to us through this Science. Our family have enjoyed many physical healings, including those of an abscess in the ear, tonsillitis, sick headaches, constipation, and coughs.
About thirteen years ago I was very unhappy. My sister, who was interested in Christian Science, asked me to come to her house one afternoon and stay with the children while she went to town.
I lift up my heart in love and gratitude to God for His love and blessings to me and mine. We have been healed of many diseases, discords, and unhappiness.
