I can never express in words my great gratitude for Christian Science and for all that it has brought into my life, especially the understanding I am gaining of the ever-presence of God and His angels. "Angels" are defined, in part, by Mrs.
That God is not only able but willing to heal, guide, and protect each one of His children, as we are taught in Christian Science, has been proved to me so conclusively recently, and on several previous occasions, that I feel I should share my experiences and express my gratitude through our periodicals. I was involved in an automobile collision in which I was thrown headforemost against the windshield of my car.
It is many years since I took up the study of Christian Science and it has been a wonderful help to me. One of my first healings was of weak eyes.
Nineteen years ago I turned to Christian Science as the last resort. For three years I had been under doctors' care, and they had been very kind and had done all they could to help me.
In the year 1895 I first heard of Christian Science. I was told by a friend that a lady by the name of Mary Baker Eddy who lived in Concord, New Hampshire, had discovered Christ Jesus' method of healing the sick, and had named her discovery Christian Science.
With a heart full of joy and gratitude I wish to give my testimony as follows: I came to Christian Science only after experiencing a deep sense of discouragement because life seemed vain, and presented so much injustice. I made the acquaintance of a Christian Science practitioner, who seemed to me the embodiment of peace and rest.
It is with a great sense of joy and gratitude that I testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I had been interested in this Science for about two years when the so-called influenza epidemic broke out during the time of the world war.
It is with my most sincere thanks to Christian Science that I send this testimony. I have known of this Science for nine years, and my thoughts have been so uplifted by the understanding of God and His perfect creation that I am daily realizing my birthright of complete health.
I did not come into Christian Science seeking a religion, but looking for a remedy for the ills of the flesh. The doctors—and I had tried every kind—did not claim that I had any incurable trouble, but that I had many chronic ones; and most of the time I was uncomfortable and discontented.
On page 162 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy says, "Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies.
