Fifteen years ago, when in great physical and mental need after a general breakdown, I became interested in Christian Science and was prevailed upon to purchase the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. This step I shall always be grateful for. Shortly afterwards I laid the book aside, only to take it up again in earnest three years later, as the little I had first read in it could not be forgotten.
It took all the courage I had to call upon a Christian Science practitioner and ask for help. This was lovingly given when I had promised to give up all material means and rely wholly on Truth. The thought of giving up the drugs on which I had depended for so long greatly frightened me; but my need was great, so I promised; and I was quickly healed of chronic constipation and the habitual use of drugs. The healing of extreme nervousness came slowly, but this caused me earnestly to study the Bible and our textbook, and for this I am most grateful.
Among others, the following very severe troubles have been quickly overcome through the aid of a loving practitioner: pneumonia, influenza, fractured bones, and so-called contagious diseases.
