I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for all it has done for me and mine. I am grateful to Mary Baker Eddy for giving us our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." About ten years ago, when I first began to read this book, I was healed of a very severe eye trouble and of the need of wearing glasses which had been prescribed by an oculist about four months before. He advised me never to go without them. When a neighbor saw my difficulty, she asked me if I cared to read Science and Health. I replied that I was not reading anything, as my eyes were so bad I could not read a line without pain. She then told me that many people had been healed just by reading this book. The next morning she brought it over, but I laid it on the table and did not try to read for several days. The neighbor asked me if I had read it, and she reflected so much love that I decided to read it if I possibly could, just to please her. When I began to see that God is the only power, I took off my glasses and continued to read. Before I was half through the book I was healed and I knew it, for a wonderful spiritual uplifting came with the healing.
As I gained a better understanding, headaches which I had had almost continually for several years were overcome, also chronic sore throat. Other members of my family have had wonderful healings, of hives in a severe form, measles, erysipelas, what seemed to be muscular rheumatism, and influenza.
My daughter has had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School and was taught to apply this truth in her everyday problems. I am grateful for our Sunday school, our church services, and the periodicals.—Auburn, Washington.
