Many times I have felt I should like to tell the world what Christian Science has done for me and mine. Six years ago we were in despair, for my husband was suffering from a growth in the throat which the doctors could not cure. Then a sister in London wrote and told me of Christian Science. Through the loving help of a practitioner, who was so very patient and kind, and through the understanding of God's man as taught in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, in a short time my husband was back at work again.
At that time I was attending a hospital and had been doing so for fourteen years, for internal troubles. I had had two very serious operations, and was always waiting for another; but I was instantly healed through Christian Science. One day, whilst seeking help for my husband, I remarked to the practitioner, "I have to go to the hospital every week." She answered, "You do not have to go; there is only one law, the law of God." I saw this so clearly that I never went again, for God's law is always operative. Another time there was a small lump at the bottom of my back. The same practitioner helped me by saying and knowing, " 'The word of God is quick' and sharp, sharper and quicker than the surgeon's knife." I was instantly healed, for all pain left me and I was free. I could tell of many more beautiful healings which my family and I have had.
I am most grateful for this wonderful healing truth as taught by Mrs. Eddy. At one time I was greatly uplifted by the words from a solo sung at church on a Sunday evening. The words were these: "And I will give rest unto your soul." This uplift resulted in work for a member of my family who had been idle for eight months.
