Testimonies of Healing

On page 306 of "Science and Health...

From the November 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

On page 306 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, occurs this statement: "Undisturbed amid the jarring testimony of the material senses, Science, still enthroned, is unfolding to mortals the immutable, harmonious, divine Principle,—is unfolding Life and the universe, ever present and eternal." For twenty-four years I have been a student of this Science, and during this time the unfolding spoken of above has been going on in my consciousness with healing results.

Beginning with sorrow at the passing on of two young children, through many other discordant conditions, such as lack, limitation, apparent opposition to Truth, disease, and the passing on of other loved ones, this great and wonderful Science of the Christ has led and sustained me and mine. I have witnessed in my own family healings of pneumonia, a very disfiguring goiter, paralysis of the left side of the face, and so-called minor ailments; also some faults of character have been eliminated. I have had the joy of seeing two well-loved children apply this truth to their problems more and more as they reached manhood and womanhood.

As there were deep waters for the children of Israel to pass through, so have there been for us, but with the help of this Science we have come through safely and with a larger store of spiritual understanding. For this latter fact we are most grateful, for it proves that Christian Science is not only true, but practical, and that spiritual understanding lies back of its practicality.
