I climb, with joy, the heights of Mind,
To soar o'er time and space;
I yet shall know as I am known
And see Thee face to face.
The inspired thought of these much-loved words, found in Hymn No. 136 of the Christian Science Hymnal, has brought comfort to many who have made journeys by airplane. However, whether one flies the airways or remains at home, he can still joyously climb the heights of God, divine Mind, and overcome the limitations of mortal mind.
It is interesting to note what limitations were broken down in Scriptural history when men drew nigh to God. Often these happenings took place on some mount. At Mount Sinai, Moses received the Ten Commandments, those great spiritual and moral laws (see Exodus 20:3-17); and at this same mountain, often called Horeb, Elijah had his faith in the one God restored (see I Kings 19: 11, 12). Frequently during his ministry our Master, Christ Jesus, withdrew to some mount for fresh inspiration, and following these experiences he did great healing work.
