I have for so long gained inspiration and encouragement from the testimonies of others that I now wish to give thanks for all that Christian Science has meant to my family and to myself. When I look back over the years and see how divine Love has continually guided, healed, and protected me, I am filled with gratitude for the inestimable blessing of knowing even a little of this Science, which is so clearly the promised Comforter.
I am very grateful for having been freed from the fear of recurring severe colds during the winter and from the belief in car sickness, which at one time made it impossible for me to drive more than twenty miles without being ill. I am also grateful for gradually gaining dominion over faults of character, such as criticism, timidity, and a sense of personal responsibility.
When our two sons were babies, we came in contact for a whole afternoon with someone who had whooping cough. I allowed fear for the children to enter my thought, and very soon we all developed whooping cough. I got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner and asked for prayerful help, which was lovingly given. Within one day the babies had stopped coughing, and by the third day I was entirely free.
