Son of God

Mark 6:1-6

From the April 1959 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Carpenter, the son of Mary.
Was this not he, they said.
The angry question rose, then fell
Like heavy weight of lead.

They could not see the Son of God,
Immortal, pure, complete;
The sinless, stainless Christ, untouched
By death, disease, defeat.

Carpenter, the son of Mary,
Was all that they could see.
Alert us, God, that we may view
Man's Christlike radiancy!
