Proving for oneself the truth of being, namely that harmony, health, joy, substance are ever available, is accomplished through progressive transformation of thought. This transformation takes place as one rejects the false suggestions of fear, sickness, malice, and other material beliefs and acknowledges one's true selfhood as the child of God. In the words of St. Paul (Rom. 12:2), "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Anyone who through an understanding of Christian Science denies the reality of an existence apart from God may prove for himself the truths of spiritual existence, irrespective of his human environment or background. All who will may establish for themselves a more heavenly way of life by consistently casting out carnal beliefs and affirming the sacred realities of being.
The first chapter of Genesis explains that man is created in the image and likeness of God. Consequently all Godlike qualities, such as strength, understanding, courage, and intelligence, are inherent in man as God's likeness. It is the privilege of anyone to claim these divinely bestowed characteristics for himself and to utilize them in human experience, thereby following the apostle's instruction to the Galatians (6:4) "Let every man prove his own work."
