Testimonies of Healing

In I Peter 2:9 we read, "Ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. " I was indeed dwelling in darkness when, at a time of great need and in answer to prayer, Christian Science was presented to me.

I should like to take this opportunity to give expression to my deep gratitude for the many blessings which Christian Science has brought me. My introduction to Science came through physical healing.

For eleven years I have enjoyed reading the testimonies published in the Christian Science periodicals. Now I feel that it is my turn to express my gratitude.

My heart is filled with gratitude to God for Christian Science and I humbly bear testimony to many healings and blessings received through its application. For ten or more years I had suffered from what the doctors called bleeding piles.

Many years ago as a young man I was greatly impressed with what Christian Science had to offer in the way of protection from sickness and sin. The following illustration comes to mind: I had been ill in bed for two or three days when a friend, a Christian Scientist, called at the house to invite me to a party that evening.

Christian Science came into my experience many years ago, when I lived in Mexico. I had for some time been earnestly seeking God.

My heart is overflowing with gratitude to our revered Leader for having given to the world her revelation of Truth, which heals and comforts. I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School from the age of five, and in recent years have been grateful for the opportunity of teaching in the Sunday School.

Fifteen years ago Christian Science was brought to our attention when we witnessed the healing of a little child of eczema. We called on a practitioner to learn what this Science was, and the explanation was so logical that we asked that specific work be done for us.

I have received much encouragement and help over a period of many years from the testimonies in our periodicals. I should like to submit the following few experiences from the many I have had in Christian Science.

With sincere gratitude to God for the many blessings which I have received since learning of Christian Science, I write this testimony. Some thirty years ago, after all material means had failed to benefit a badly broken arm and wrist from which I had suffered for more than a year, I was healed by reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy.
