Testimonies of Healing

" Let the redeemed of the Lord say so" ( Ps. 107:2 ).

Christian Science has helped me for nearly thirty years. Although I have had many healings, my greatest gratitude is for an understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him.

I began the study of Christian Science at a time when I had searched many philosophies and had rebelled against all my former teachings. I was at a point of utter despair and despondency.

During my childhood and young womanhood I knew nothing of Christian Science, because my parents were bitterly opposed to what they believed it to be. I am glad to state that they both were later healed of this opposition.

I am grateful for Christian Science and for the many healings I have had, but the one which I am most grateful for is that of an illness for which I had been taking medicine for seven years. Although I had been attending a Christian Science church for four months, I was still using medicine.

Christian Science was introduced to my family when I was four years of age. At that time my father, who had suffered for several months from consumption and had been given up by his physician, was healed through the work of a Christian Science practitioner.

After years of worldly living I discovered that I was the victim of the liquor habit. I tried to overcome this condition and at times thought I had been successful, but when confronted with suggestions of self-pity and loneliness I would again succumb.

The spring of 1940 brought a special anxiety to me because my family had remained in the Channel Islands after our summer holiday in 1939. It had seemed unwise to bring them back to London in view of the Prime Minister's warning of air attack, but small houses in the country were very difficult to find.

I should like to express my sincere gratitude to God for Christian Science, the religion of Love. It was introduced to me by a member of my family after I had been suffering for over three years from the effects of a serious operation.

I have now been studying Christian Science for nineteen years, and I think it is high time that I express my heartfelt gratitude through the printed word of the periodicals for the multitude of blessings that have come my way. When I first started to study this Science f was suffering from stomach disorder, intestinal toxemia, constipation.
