Testimonies of Healing
Just as Moses led the children of Israel for forty years from the land of bondage into the promised land of freedom, so for forty ears Christian Science has led me into continually greater spiritual freedom. Through Mary Baker Eddy's revelation of divine Truth all may be delivered from the darkness of the carnal mind.
Little did I realize when coming to the United States in 1917 what a happy life of usefulness was before me. The words Christian Science were new to me; but it was not long before I learned that those words meant religion—a religion that would meet my every need.
Let the words of the Psalmist be the prelude to my humble testimony ( Ps. 105:1 ), "O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
Jesus said ( John 18:37 ), "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. " A few years ago, following the birth of our daughter, I found myself in great pain and distress.
In gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me I submit the following testimony. While was in combat service with the Army Air Forces during World War II our plane was shot down by antiaircraft fire at a twenty-two-thousand-foot altitude.
" "O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me," sang the Psalmist ( Ps. 30:2 ).
It is with sincere gratitude that I record my testimony regarding many healings received in Christian Science. Since 1919 God has been my only physician.
I should like to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for my family and me and for what it is doing for the entire world. I am especially grateful for the wonderful healing work The Christian Science Monitor is doing in bringing the light of Truth to the world situation.
With heartfelt gratitude I wish to testify to the healing and sustaining power of Christian Science and to the unflinching faith of the practitioners. I had been unable to work for some time and was weak, nervous, discouraged, and filled with fear.
For fifteen years I have benefited from the study and application of Christian Science, and for the blessings received I should like to express my deep appreciation. Christian Science found me at a time when I was utterly dissatisfied with life; it was indeed just what I had been needing.
