Testimonies of Healing

It was just a little over sixty years ago that I came to this country seeking health. I was disappointed at that time, however, for the climate failed to benefit me.

Having for more than thirty years reaped the benefits of Christian Science, I should like to express my gratitude for this wonderful truth. We have had many proofs of God's care in our home through demonstrations of supply, protection, and healing.

It is with joy that I submit this testimony expressing my gratitude for Christian Science and its ever-present, efficacious healing power. From the time I was first introduced to the healing laws of Truth in a Christian Science Sunday School, the utilization of these laws has brought me countless healings which nullified the laws of health and existence generally accepted by mankind.

I am grateful to God for leading me to Christian Science. When my mother, to whom I had turned constantly for guidance and help in all I did, passed on a few years ago, the sense of loss was very great.

One day when I was a child a number of older boys were visiting at our home. They discovered some poison ivy and drew back from it in fear.

With joy and gratitude for proof of God's love and power I should like to share the following experience. Several years ago a growth appeared on my right hand, and although I denied its reality, it grew larger and finally became painful.

"Praise God, from whom all blessings flow" are the opening words of the doxology which was sung every Sunday morning in the church I attended as a child. However, it was not until years later that I really began to understand how to "praise God.

I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing but for the healing of fear. One experience which overwhelmed me with fear was an alarming diseased condition which was manifested on my small daughter in the form of a large swelling.

The healing of Spanish influenza through Christian Science and protection from accident while I was training as a naval aviator in World War I led me into membership in a branch church and The Mother Church. During World War I and throughout the succeeding years of fruitful activity as a working Christian Scientist I have been blessed beyond measure through activity in the Christian Science movement.

On October 4, 1930, my testimony was published in the Christian Science Sentinel, and during the intervening years I have demonstrated Christian Science more extensively for myself and others. Through this precious gift to mankind I have been restored to a healthy, strong woman and for thirty-two years have enjoyed the many blessings that are rightfully mine by the constant study and practice of the beautiful truths contained in the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs.
