Testimonies of Healing

For nearly twenty-five years I have been blessed by the teachings of Christian Science. Through my childhood and until early womanhood I was sickly, suffering each winter from bronchitis and a susceptibility to colds.

When sorely beset by an attack of influenza during the epidemic in 1919, I turned humbly to God for help. I could barely remember the Lord's Prayer—having prayed seldom since childhood—but I repeated the words silently to myself.

For many years I have been taught, guided, and healed by Christian Science. It was presented to me at a time of great mental and physical strain because of the illness of a member of my family.

Since my introduction to Christian Science God has been my only Physician. Often physical difficulties have been healed by the understanding that God is All-in-all and holy; that holiness is health, and that God's idea can reflect only health.

Christian Science came into our home through our mother when I was about five years old. From that time on, as far as I know, we never depended on anything else, and I have never known Science to fail.

I am so grateful for Christian Science and what it has done for me that I should like to tell of a healing I had a few years ago. I was living on a mining claim in the foothills of the Sierras in Owens Valley, California.

It is a privilege to confirm the healings described above by my wife, and it is always a joyous occasion when we are able to express gratitude to God for another victory over error. We thank God every day for the blessings given us through the Bible, and the enlightenment offered to the world by Mrs.

To have been brought up by Christian Science parents in a loving, harmonious home, to have experienced the protection and healing power of Christian Science all my life, these blessings are only part of the good for which I thank God. With the help of Christian Science practitioners a severe and persistent case of hay fever was healed when I was willing to express more patience and unselfishness and understood that man is sensitive only to good.

I have been helped so often by reading testimonies in our periodicals that it is my prayer that my testimony may lighten the way of some seeker for Truth and bring a measure of that peace "which passeth all understanding. " I should like to tell of a healing I had many years ago.

I have been so greatly blessed by Christian Science that I am ashamed that this is my first public testimony of gratitude. I have known of Science almost all my life, because members of my family were interested in it.
