Testimonies of Healing

With a heart full of gratitude for Christian Science, I give this testimony. My mother was healed of liver trouble the first time she attended a Christian Science church.

It is more than forty-five years since I began the study of Christian Science, and during that time I have used no material remedies. I have had many healings and know that Christian Science heals what are called incurable diseases, as well as lesser ailments.

In Revelation we find the following citation: "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. " As a child I attended an orthodox Sunday school and church, and during those years I learned many verses from the Bible.

In Deuteronomy we read, "He is thy praise, and he Is thy God. " I realize that since praise is part of my identity, I must express my grateful thanks to God for what Christian Science has done for me.

It is with a heart filled with gratitude to God that I am writing this testimony. I heard of Christian Science over thirty years ago, when my mother, who had been a semi-invalid for years, had been given but a week more to live.

Up to within eight days of my thirty-third birthday, I had never entered a church with serious intent. At that time my church experience was limited to my own christening, several funerals, and a wedding.

In my journey from sense to Soul, Christian Science has given me faith, hope, and encouragement innumerable times. It has come clearly to me that it is my duty to bear witness to the healing power of Christian Science.

For the manifold blessings received through the study and application of Christian Science, I am profoundly grateful to God. Although my mother was healed in Science, I did not take up its study at that time, but rather rebelled at what I then thought this religion to be.

While I was reading a testimony of Christian Science healing in a Sentinel these words from the Bible stood out very clearly to me: "When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it. " A dictionary defines "vow," in part, as "a solemn engagement to adopt a certain course of life,.

Ten years ago a sister-in-law took me to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. My material world was crumbling, and I was very nervous, frightened, and tired.
